"mobile video phones will soon be available. These devices will allow transmission of visual images along with sound (and, possibly, textual annotation via their keypads). I will be interesting to see how more effective these 'multimedia' video phones will be for communication  purposes. It will not be unrealistic to assume that the screens on these devices may be capable of emulating display properties of conventional paper. This will enable us to communicate using icons and free-hand sketches that we generate using some form of stylus. Indeed, we may also have libraries of our own personal icons stored within the phones themselves which we can use to build iconic communication sequences."
